How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment with us through our online booking calendar on our website. Simply select your desired service, choose a date and time that works for you, and confirm your booking. If you need assistance, feel free to call us at +44-7465-969684.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have a no deposit, no booking policy. Your deposit is fully refundable up until 24 hours before your appointment, so if anything changes you're protected.

Can I book without using the website?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you are not comfortable booking online, please call us and our customer service staff will be happy to take your information and payment over the phone to create your booking. Please note that our phone staff are not always available and may need to call you back.

Question 4

I need my hair done in short notice and you're fully booked! Help!

Sometimes schedules don't line up, we get it. We offer both a late / early booking during our regular salon days (Tues - Sat) as well as out of hours service for the days when we are closed. These bookings do cost extra, you can find them on the website.

What makes Efo's Hair Lounge so special?

Compared to typical Afro-Caribbean salons, we take pride in our salon being exceptionally clean, tasteful, bright, modern and stylish. Many of our customers comment on how calm and relaxing their visit is. Our stylists are never on the phone or carrying on with their guests and friends, during your appointment they are totally focused on you and giving you the best salon experience possible.

Do you serve black / white / mixed-race / other clients?

Yes - to all! At Efo's Hair Lounge, everyone is welcome. Afro-Caribbean hairstyles are not only for people of black and mixed-race ethnic backgrounds. There is no racial limit on who can wear and enjoy Afro-Caribbean styles.

How long does my natural hair need to be?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the style, for afro-textured hair: 
For most braid styles you will need at least 1 inch of your own growth, 
For cornrows or crochet you will need closer to 2 inches
For fauxlocs you will need at least 2 inches
For weave a minimum of three inches is advised
For twist we recommend four inches 
For dreadlocs you will need a minimum of 6 inches

With non-Afro textured hair we often suggest adding 2-3 inches to all of the above measurements, if in doubt send a video of your own hair to us to confirm.

Question 8

Do I need to specify in my booking if I want real human hair extensions?

Accepted Answer

Yes! All our styles that offer real human hair require you to specify this at the time of booking. Doing our styles with real human hair (instead of the normal synthetic hair) requires considerably more time. Our salons also stock far less real human hair, so we need to know at least 1 week in advance that we have the right length, colour and texture for the style you want.

If you do not specify real human hair at the time of booking you will have to either proceed with synthetic hair, or you will lose your deposit and have to rebook.

Question 9

What is the difference between top of head, taper fade and full head?

Accepted Answer

A top of head style means only the hair above a line drawn from your forehead all around the skull. A full head style goes down to the natural hairline on all sides. Taper fade styles are somewhere in between with some styling between the top and the sides (ear level).

Can you explain the different style lengths?

Accepted Answer

Shoulder length styles end above the top of the shoulders. Mid-back styles continue to where a bra strap would naturally fall. Waist length styles are to the narrowest part of your mid-section (different people may have higher or lower waists). Hip-length styles continue to the widest part of your hips, usually the thick part of your bum.
